**2. Carter vs Ice**
This battle was bound to be interesting because Carter hasn't battled anybody like Ice (meaning someone that's not been known to out-joke his opponent) and really made me think about what makes someone the victor in a battle with a juxtaposition of two rappers of opposite sides of the spectrum. Is it how much you enjoyed it? Who had the better quality writing? IDfukinK but I have Carter 2-1 and I'll tell you why. Carter can do no wrong. I haven't laughed like that watching battles maybe since Soul Khan. How do you make fun of somebody who's already just made fun of themselves in such a charming and hilarious way the round before. Got a great joke about Carter Deems? he prolly beat you to it. It really takes someone like Ice who is also almost unanimously enjoyed and respected to say shit that people will feel. I don't really know what to say about this battle even though the homie /u/GAVL paid for me to talk about it. I gave the first two to Carter because the quality and timing of his jokes outshined Ice's BARS, granted ICE had some solid jokes too which was great to see. He struggled in the second ccuz there was some construction going on next door that was audible on the PPV, probably really bad in the venue. Carter started the third out well, but the third clearly went to ICE. Carter had two antics that were alright with the sparring helmet and standing in the crowd while saying "I'm not afraid of you." But Ice had an angle I thought was really smart in calling out Carter's parents. He KNOWS that Carter's dad watches the battles, and when you battle for years, you've heard all kinds of people threaten violence and all kinds of shit talk but I feel like nothing would actually perturb Carter more than someone talking to his parents directly in a battle. I remember in an interview him saying he was really embarrassed when his coworkers in the office found his battles. I love that ICE didn't try to change how he rapped to accommodate what a usual Carter Deems battle should be and he picked a legit angle I thought was badass. Carter is too gangster tho, 2-1 Carter
