Can confirm. Spent the entire first night after fallout 4's release not taking a step outside of sanctuary hills (except for supplies) until I had built multiple multi-story towers and a functioning town. No time to explore the rest of the game when dogmeat needs his own multi-layered compound.

I spent the rest of the game souping up all of the building zones until I got a magical dlc, the vault 88 one that lets you build entire vaults. A no building limits mod, some lighting mods and a few full weeks of playtime later, I had vaults built into most of my thriving metropolis city-settlements.

I don't know why. I usually stick to multiplayer only stuff but holy shit did fallout 4 base building hook me.
