Keeping an eye on the calorie count of the sugary drinks could help you stay in calorie deficit. I didn’t strictly count calories, but I did pay more attention to them and it didn’t take long to get used to water instead of sweeter stuff once I noticed how many of my calories were from the juice I drank. I like ice cream and other sweet stuff and am still able to eat all that in moderation. I couldn’t do those crazy diets where you basically deprive yourself of the joy that food can bring. My friend who is trying to lose weight loves her daily coffee loaded with all the sweetness so she sacrifices solid food calories to enjoy her sweet routine. Whatever works. Good luck!
