Elk pinned to a tree by an avalanche

I remember the day I was pinned to this tree by an avalanche. It was a cold, snowy day, and I was foraging for food in the forest when I heard the rumbling of the snow above me. I tried to run, but it was too late. The snow crashed down on me, pinning me to this tree.

I struggled to free myself, but it was no use. I was trapped, and I knew that my time was running out. I felt the cold seeping into my bones and the weight of the snow pressing down on me.

I thought about my herd, and how they would go on without me. I thought about the forests and the streams, and how they would continue to thrive even after I was gone. And then, finally, I let go. I closed my eyes and surrendered to the cold and the darkness.

But even in death, I am still part of this world. My skeleton remains, a reminder of the power of nature and the fleeting nature of life. I may be gone, but I am not forgotten.
