EU approves effective ban on new fossil fuel cars from 2035

Congratulations you could afford a Beemer. Currently priced at £33,000 in my country (which is about my annual Salary in a recession).

My budget on the other hand for a car is about £1,000, and if I saw a second hand EV at that price I wouldn't trust it atm compared to something like a '04 Focus which has a much larger engine and is less fuel efficient but is reliable as hell. While older cheaper EVs are notorious for dropping off after 7-10 years. So I'd trust an older ICE model more in my price range.

Don't take what I'm saying as EVs are bad (they're not but they're currently well out the price range of many people right now!). Also I can't recharge as I live in a block of flats. So they aren't yet practical to me. Me saying "I wouldn't get one yet over an older ICE yet" shouldn't be seen as spreading obsolete propaganda. More me being practical.
