I have been away to college during your sophomore year. I have been dating you since we were both freshmen in high school. We were in love. We were gonna get married, have kids, the white picket fence, the whole deal.
However, distance kills things. You decided to stay working in town to help “set up a life together” and as I am in college I realize I don’t want to go back. We have always had talks about “the future” that are delayed and I'm not sure you really even listened or is willing to change your own ways.
I avoided seeing you on Thanksgiving due to “being busy with family” but it was harder to get out of things after Christmas. I actually plan to be back at school on New Year’s Eve unless something changes my mind. I did see you over the Christmas Holiday and whenever I bring up things about the future you deflect it. I still have fun with you but I don’t now anymore. I didn’t spend Christmas together due to my family wanting to take up your time. Finally, I get to your new place, which is the basement of another family’s home.
