Favorite less-popular Dylan albums

Together Through Life ‘as good as or better’ than Highway 61 Revisited, Freewheelin’, Blonde on Blonde? Come on… I mean it’s not a terrible album but let’s not exaggerate. There’s no way anyone would listen to just TGL and Modern Times and then become as much of a diehard Dylan fan, in the same way they would after listening to his 60s material. They are good albums but they’re not ALL ‘as good or better’. That’s a huge sweeping statement. The proof is in the fact that most people only listen to them after they’ve exhausted his 60s/70s work and still crave more. If they were as good as or better then it wouldn’t matter where you start and 50% of Dylan fans would be made from listening to Tempest. (But that’s not true!)! I don’t fully disagree with you, however; there are a couple that I’d consider as good as some of his 60s stuff like Time Out of Mind and L&T, which I think are better than, say, Nashville Skyline, but overall they have to be judged separately, they’re kind of apples to oranges.
