In HS, my chem teacher took us to the nearby creek to show us the reactivity of Potassium with water. We watched the hissing and explosions. Then we watched a Large Mouth Bass grab the last (and biggest) chunk tossed into the water. We all are both horrified and entertained by this as we waited a few second before an underwater explosion followed by most of a fish corpse floating to the surface.

Lithium is on the same column of the Periodic Table of Elements. I always wondered why they'd pick that column to power batteries in devices where water would be the go-to reaction for putting out fires started by those devices.
