Brad Hazzard's touching condolences to the families of Covid victims in today's presser

All deaths are sad, and it's appropriate to offer condolences. However, a little perspective is in order. Over 100 people die every day in NSW. Since this outbreak began nearly 2 months ago, covid deaths in NSW account for a fraction of 1% of all deaths. Many of the comments are pointing out that mentioning the deaths can be a reminder of what the restrictions are for. So what the actual issue seems to be is that NSW gov is not politicizing the deaths for lockdown propaganda. Good for them.

It's also true that most of these deaths were preventable through vaccination. So that is an important message to convey (without casting blame on the deceased) in order to prevent future deaths. Yet people seem to get very upset when NSW gov points this out.
