Flying in a few months... already anxious... help

I am going on a flight this month after 5 years of avoiding airline travel. It’s only from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Only a 1.5 hour flight but it’s a major step for me. If I were in your shoes, I would take .5 alprazolam if you have never been prescribed. You will be alert, and carefree regarding the flight. However, you will still focus on your children. The alprazolam doesn’t make you that care free unless you go over 1mg-2mg territory. .5 is just enough to get rid of the panic or anticipatory anxiety. I don’t know if any other therapeutic alternatives because once you get onto the plane, everything you remembered goes out the window. I would maybe suggest wearing headphones playing an audible book or music you love in only one year so you are still attentive to your little ones.

You will be fine and I can’t wait for you to post a follow up about how easy the trip went! ♥️
