Hello fellows!
As we know in Update 1.51, the Mitsubishi A6M received new calculation done to the fuel consumption, which lead not only to a 1 hour minimum fuel load, but also to extra weight. The A6M seems to be much less versatile and more sluggish at speeds of 250kmh. However, I've done some research in order to figure what justified such increased fuel loads and came to an astonishing result.
Fuel loads in game:
Model | Fuel load (max) |
---|---|
A6M2-11 | 2h 19 min |
A6m2-22 | 2h 19 min |
A6M3-32 | 2h 17 min |
A6M3-22 | 2h 48 min |
A6M3-22 Ko | 3h 5 min |
A6M5-52 | 2h 58 min |
A6M5-52 Ko | 2h 48 min |
A6M5-52 Otsu | 3h 5 min |
Fuel Fuel consumption (l.p.h) per Engine:
Engine | normal max | nominal | take off |
---|---|---|---|
Sakae 12 | 247L (65.25gal) | 322L (85.07gal) | 390L (103.03gal) |
Sakae 21 | 295L (77.93gal) | 420L (110.96gal) | 485L (128.13gal) |

The "nominal" rating:
Sakae 12: 2500 RPM with 35,8"Hg (+150mmHg) at SL. = Military Power (100%)
Sakae 21: 2700 RPM with 37,8"Hg (+200mmHg) at SL. = Military Power (100%)
The "take off" rating:
Sakae 12: 2550 RPM with 39,8"Hg (+250mmHg) at SL. = War Emergency Power (WEP)
Sakae 21: 2750 RPM with 41,7"Hg (+300mmHg) at SL. = War Emergency Power (WEP)

Calculation done at "nominal" rating:

---|---|---|
A6m2-22 | 2h 19 min | 1h 40 min |
A6M3-22 | 2h 48 min | 1h 24 min |
A6M3-32 | 2h 17 min | 1h 8 min |
A6M5-52 Ko | 2h 48 min | 1h 24 min |
Conclusion:
It seems that the FM Developer using consumption rates from cruise speeds, instead the nominal rating of 100% power output. It does not make any sense for the current game meta to claculate with crusie speeds, the maps are to small and none is flying below 100% poer output.
