For every upvote i'll stay sober for a day

That's how I was until I woke up one morning with a massive headache, dry heaving over my toilet, and looking over to see a massive tower of beer cans beside my computer desk. I told myself that was enough, and here I am 5 years sober.

It's really difficult to stop drinking, I'm not going to sugar coat it. If you want to stop, you will, but you do have a lot of support from people who've been there. It took me around 3 or 4 months of being sober to really get a grasp on things, and about a year to actually realize that I can live life without a drop of alcohol.

The shitty part is that you'll not be able to block out stressful situations, or situations that you've put off (drank it away).. However, you'll have a far better mindset to figure out what you need to do and you'll accomplish it.

Hell, I was given a stolen vehicle by my own brother, and the massive amount of stress that came with that would make a lot of people break. However, I had sober mindset to get the situation solved and get-the-fuck-outta-there within the same week.
