Gameplay and story segregation is a thing. For example, you know how come you can win the SAW while Nixon is in charge but events write out like it's been going on for years? Sure, gameplay tells us one thing, but the story is telling us another, and you're going to have the story triumph over gameplay. Otherwise the story just doesn't make sense.
The Komi extremists were originally allowed to democratically come into power, but the update had to be rushed out before that could be added in. Fortunately, the devs are adding it in a future update (whenever that may be).
You would've had a point (or at least a decent post for TNO's WMG page) if the mod was anywhere to being halfway done lol.
