Finals week is finally over (no pun intended), so now I get to ask something that's been on my mind: If anyone else here is an anime fan, I need your help. For Christmas this year, my parents are giving me a subscription to an anime streaming service. My two options are Funimation Now or HiDive. But first, I should say 2 things. One, I do not pirate anime, nor do I have any intention to. Two, aside form A Place Further Than the Universe, I do not like Crunchyroll, s-so don't suggest it to me, got it, b-baka?!

With that said, we'll start with Funimation Now. As a licensing and dubbing company, I have a lot of respect for Funimation, as their catalogue is what got me into anime. They have the license to some of my favorite shows, like Assassination Classroom, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and Zombie Land Saga. They also have the license to Fruits Basket, which is getting a new adaptation next year that tells the entire story of the manga, which I, and many others, are very excited for.

Then there's HiDive, the newer streaming service of Sentai Filmworks. At a glance, Sentai seems to have a very nice catalogue, with shows like K-On!, Azumanga Daioh, Bloom Into You, Made in Abyss, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and then some. Plus, not only does their subscription have a cheap payment of only $4.99 a month, but they have more films and OVA's than Funimation or Crunchyroll could ever dream of having. And like Funimation, they have dubs. Say what you want, but I prefer dubbed anime, when it's done right.

So, those are my two options. Knowing what I said about both, which service do you think I would like better?
