The motherboard is a little expensive, it won't perform any better than a cheaper one unless you're an extreme overclocker.
Also you could take some of the money going into that ram and put it into the graphics card. You can always add a second stick of ram later when you have the money around, but the graphics card you get you're stuck with until you upgrade or add a second one in SLI.

It's not a big deal either way, if you like the look of the motherboard you picked and you just want to have all the ram right away and have it finished, that's fine. A 970 is still going to perform great, just wanted to show that stretching for a 980 is possible on your budget.
