Gen Z is blowing past other generations with 401(k)s and retirement savings

The idea that there won't be social security is a lie and propaganda. That isn't even how social security works.

It can't "run out."

There is nothing to "run out."

The idea is can "run out" is so bad that it isn't even wrong. The idea is gibberish that is detached from reality.

Social Security is a "pay-as-you-go" system. It works without the need for any sort of magical, impossible bank account full of trillions of dollars. Yes, there were social security surpluses that were turned into bonds (the government borrowing from itself with accounting tricks), but even without the bonds, around 70 to 75% of the money will still be paid out. That 70 to 75% pay out is assuming no one at all does anything ever in the next several decades to improve the situation. The fixes for it aren't even hard. They don't take any sort of super science math. they don't take political revolutions. They could fix it tomorrow, if they wanted to, and they will fix it when it is convenient so they can look like geniuses and heroes.

They've been lying about social security running out since the 90s. They might have been lying since before the 90s, but I was too young to notice.

Social security is going to exist as long as the United States exists.

I hate how stupid voters in this country are.
