Germany To Abandon $1.1 Trillion Wind Power Program By 2019

A FUD article (sponsored by the nuclear industry?).

Germany plans to stop building new wind farms by 2019

No, they don't, they are limiting(ending) the FiT they are going to pay. The FiT is not a constitutional right but only intended to get the industry started, and on-shore wind has reached the 'self-supporting' level.

The government plans to cap the total amount of wind energy at 40 to 45 percent of national capacity, according to the report. By 2019, this policy would cause a massive reduction of 6,000 megawatts of wind power capacity compared to the end of 2015’s capacity.

(1) Read that as: "The government plans to cap the total amount of wind energy at 40 to 45 percent of national capacity (by 2025), according to the report." There are financial considerations for the existing plants, give them time to earn their investment back in the usual manner, for which they need room on the grid, or close them prematurely and let the tax-payer foot the bill. (2) Read that as: "this policy would cause a massive reduction of 6,000 megawatts of wind power capacity compared to the end of 2015’s capacity, only on 'new installed', and if the growth rate would continue as it did during 2010-2015.

From "told Berliner Zeitung.":

Die 1500 Megawatt reichten nicht einmal, um bis 2025 ältere Windmühlen gegen moderne auszutauschen

First they calculate that 1500MW/year new wind is the goal (to reach 45% in 2025), then they claim that replacement of old turbines should be counted as new and added to the total.

that it will spend 'over $1.1 trillion'

Only talks about the effect on the nuclear industry.

Electricity from new wind power is nearly 'four times as expensive'

An American study about the American electrical situation, not a word about Germany.

which has 'triggered complaints that poor households are subsidizing the affluent.'

A bad attempt at a joke, you decide yourself.
