Boris Johnson goes nuclear: PM plans SEVEN new reactors to boost UK's energy self-reliance - but drops plans to double the number of wind turbines amid Tory backlash

Wind turbines are not the future that we desire tho, we need reliable electricity production with as small of an impact on our planet as possible. Wind turbines have a working life of about 15 years, whilst that is a long time and we will probably fuck the planet up within that time period through other means, there are nuclear reactors which are still operating that are 40+ years old. The biggest factor surrounding wind turbines is the waste, the blades are hybrids of wood, carbon fibre and metal, which inevitably end up in land fill or being used as fuel for some fire. Not to mention the issue of them killing lots (and I mean lots) of birds. Whilst wind turbines are sure as hell better than a coal fired power plant, comparing them to nuclear reactors and think they are a replacement for reactors, misses a key point about what we truely need
