Given the state of immigration laws in US, the state of economy and jobs in Canada, and the state of pure refugee shitshow in Europe does anyone still plan of emigrating out of India?

Lived in the US since 2011, didn't make the H1-B lottery twice. Moved to Canada in late 2016. Recently got PR through the Express Entry system. Will get citizenship in 3-4 years. The line about the "state of economy and jobs in Canada" isn't entirely accurate. Here are some things you might want to keep in mind

1) If you're a CS\ECE engineer and have decent experience, you should have no trouble getting a job in a tech company, especially if you have a degree from the US\Canada. If you only have Infy\TCS\Wipro experience and a Bachelors, you might have some trouble as there are thousands of other recent immigrants like you and you'd need something to stand out from the crowd.

2) If you're interested in either the video game or entertainment industries, Canada is THE place to be right now. Indians will have a hard time getting into either industry in the US\UK because of visa restrictions.

3) This may not be the most PC thing to say, but Canada doesn't exactly get the cream of the crop when it comes to immigrants from India. A lot of them have poor language skills, little-to-no relevant education\training and an inability to adapt to a foreign culture. These are the only people who have trouble getting jobs here. The EE system has fixed a lot of these problems, however.

4) Canada, like India, has a serious brain drain problem. Canadians from elite schools like UBC, UofT, UofM, Simon Fraser etc. end up getting STEM jobs in the US (The TN visa is VERY easy to get). As a result, there are a LOT of jobs for highly skilled immigrants (Masters\PhDs) in STEM.

If anyone has questions about Canada, immigration to Canada\US, life in Canada, tech jobs in Canada, USA vs Canada etc, i'll be happy to answer them. I've had experience with the whole ringamarole :)
