It wasn't just Wounded Knee though, this was a widespread domination policy. And it did work in the American revolution, and we just failed in fighting guerilla warfare in the Middle East.

We might disagree on who would win if a civil war would happen, I do not believe the military could win a widespread Second American Civil war for the following reasons:

• Immediate loss of morale and troops from the armies

• Troops going AWOL will take weapons, anti-air/armor with them.

• The number of AR-15 owners outnumbers active military 20:1(according to the latest national firearms survey)

• Severe foreign political pressure, since America is the world police, fighting a hot civil war at home will require the abandonment of hundreds of foreign bases around the world, leaving other countries open to attack.

I do not know if said revolutionaries could take back control over America and the capitol however, I think balkanization would be more likely.
