A second later, my eyes were already stinging and watery and I couldn't breathe.

So I immediately got low down to crawl over to the lamp. Unplugged it. And picked it up and threw it into the shower. Looking back though, in lucky I didn't catch everything else on fire from waving a burning stick around.

But that short run from the living room back to the bathroom, I already got light headed from the smoke and lack of oxygen.
