You guys decide whether this is cursed or Genius

But he was still possessed a split personality which is just lame to me cuz Green Goblin, specifically Norman Osborn is so interesting cuz he's aware of his doing. Perhaps Norman in those movies was a smug guy before he had anything to do with the serum, but he wasn't willing to murder a person and we witness him fighting (albeit unsuccessfully) his evil side while it should all be the same person.

It's so much more interesting to watch Norman Osborn act like a typical corporation, full on objectivism kind of guy while we know what he's truly like. It makes him terrifying and truly unpredictable. I will never stop saying this: Spectacular Spider-Man's Green Goblin is everything that character needs to be. He's so sadistic and witty, completely ready to torment his own damn family since his perspective is so wacky. He's the single most irresponsible character in that show, ready to (spoilers for Spectacular Spider-Man) frame his own son by BREAKING HIS DAMN LEG AFTER PRETENDING TO LIMP WHILE WEARING THE SUIT. What the fuck... That is messed up beyond words and he does it without really thinking over it.

Goblin in No Way Home was just the half of the character, but he's missing that personal connection with Peter to truly make him a great character, not just great performance. That's the main reason why I dislike that their first interpretation of Green Goblin, my favorite comic book villain of all time is an alternate universe character, a character who in-universe has nothing to offer, has no personal connection and we'll likely never see Goblin again in MCU which is such a shame.

I'm fine with Spider-Verse as a concept for a movie set in MCU, but a different version of this iconic character should absolutely not be your only version of the said character, especially if he was so underutilized
