Head of Island Health suggests 14-day isolation for non-essential workers on Vancouver Island

I think seniors like this should find a person to be their connection, especially at this time. My parents have a neighbour, she's well into her 90's and insists on living alone and doing her own shopping and stuff. My parents check on her just about daily, and my dad insists on doing things for her. Even my mom does, and my mom's disabled! She's practically a family member at this point.

She has no family, but before the old couple that lived across the street moved into a care home, my parents would help them too. And the kids of that couple lived on the mainland, they knew my parents phone number and were able to contact them if needed. It was a great setup and everyone felt way more comfortable.

It can help people like you too remain independent just a little longer.

If you can find good people you trust, anyways. That's the hard part.
