The heartwarming moment a child was adopted by the family who took care of him for Christmas

That isn't that long actually. If it's similar to a system we have here you go trough a process of training and screening for months. A lot of questions have to answered and not only if they are capable but also to make people realise how much impact it will have. And then the search for a good fit begins.

I can understand that from the point of view from people that know they can be lovely parents and really want to go for it. That time seems like forever. But adoption or foster care should always be looked at the child's point of view. There is no point in placing a child somewhere there isn't a good fit or where the family have to bring it back.
