TINCTURE POWDER CONCENTRATES
Tincture powder concentrates are similar to tea concentrates, but are appropriate for herbs with alcohol-soluble constituents. They don’t work well for plants whose primary constituents are aromatic oils. Here are the steps for producing tincture powder concentrates.
Step one: Add 5 grams (⅙ ounce) of arrowroot starch or 10 grams (⅓ ounce) of dried powdered herb for every 30 milliliters (1 ounce) of tincture and blend well.
Step two: Spread the mixture thinly on a fruit leather tray. Place in a dehydrator set at 140°. Allow it to dry until it becomes dry and brittle.
Step three: Remove the dried concentrate from the tray and grind using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle. Store in an airtight container away from heat and light.
Due to the alcohol content, dehydrate tincture powder concentrates in a well-ventilated area away from any sources of flame or spark.
