Yes sometimes they are hard to handle. But the good thing about working at a treatment center for adults is that anytime someone starts bitching and whining you can just say "hey there's the door. You are free to leave anytime if you aren't happy" and in that case most of them stay. I feel like in most cases these kind of kids come here because their parents are threatening to cut them off or cut them out of the will unless they complete a treatment program. So when you hit them with the "go ahead and leave if you don't like it" they usually back off. That being said though I'm glad I don't work at a adolescent treatment center (for kids under 18 years old) because the rules are completely different and they cannot just leave if they don't like it. And to my understanding at an adolescent treatment center if a kid runs away we have to chase them all while calling the police ... sounds like a nightmare
