Hit and run this morning. Is it worth pursuing?

Update incase anyone is curious about the ending: First of all, thanks for everyone's comments and messages. I appreciate it because today blows!

As for what happened later. I inspected my bike some more at work before lunch. There were a few snapped spokes, and my pedals don't clip properly on one side from damage. That got me more fired up for justice so I decided to leave work early for the police station. I taped the loose spokes to neighboring ones. I read online this is a thing I could do, after googling if it was safe to ride on broken spokes (let me know if that was a bad idea!). So as I'm passing the daycare again, I see a white SUV, checked the plate, and sure enough it was her. I rode over and confronted her about it and she acknowledge that she hit me that morning. I told her I'm on my way to file a report but we should talk about the matter. Suddenly, she no longer spoke English. She started having her granddaughter translate for us. I felt bad for the kid cause she was in the middle of our dispute for the rest of the encounter. She began making all sorts of accusations about me riding poorly, and was asking if I could take her number and she could pay me later. I told her I couldn't really trust her credibility seeing as she left me in the rode. She also told me the reason left me there was because "she doesn't speak English, and I looked okay". She also didn't want to get the cops involved because "police hate Mexicans and they will treat her badly". Then she started hugging her granddaughter and moaning in Spanish. I told her this is going no where and called the cops.

An officer shows up and immediately he says "Dude you should have called right away earlier" I agree, that was my fault. He said he wasn't sure if he could even file it as an accident report anymore and that this was "a civil issue". He told me to step away so he could talk to them (the lady, her daughter and grandchildren). He talked to them for awhile, checking insurance info. It took him awhile before coming over to me and he says "yeah so I'm probably going to write this up as a accident report, even though this is still a civil issue if you want to go after her for anything". At this time he let the woman leave, but he wouldn't let her drive. He made the daughter drive. I asked him what changed his mind about filing a accident report. He wouldn't tell me, but he did say she was claiming I caused damage to her SUV in locations that didn't add up to the story. He was a lot more understanding and friendly with me at that point. I think hope she's in hot water.

LBS has my bike now. They wanted to hear the whole story while they looked at everything and gave me a quote for labor and parts. It wasn't as bad as I expected. They gave me an extremely discounted rate for labor too, since I was paying out of pocket. They also gave me a second non-discounted bill in case she ends up paying. In the end, my bike will be properly repaired by Trek mechanics at low cost, and that women has bigger issues to deal with now.

Lessons learned: Always call the cops on scene. Road rash is real. I <3 my local shop.
