How can we get more people on Telegram?

3 of my closest friends were already on telegram when I switched. Managed to pull my gf and all but one of my closest friends to it by showing them awesome sticker packs and gifs lol. We used to have a group chat of 10 people or so on whatsapp so when one by one they went for telegram, the others followed because no one talked in the whatsapp group chat anymore and the one on telegram was more active than ever because the stickers and gifs were fun. Most of them still use whatsapp aswell, but I made a full switch right away. Even managed to get my parents on it because they want to stay in contact with me.

That one friend that didn't switch (yet) is sending me SMS messages, so I don't really miss anyone on whatsapp. My advice is that if you really want to convince people, you need to quit whatsapp cold turkey, people that want to contact you will either follow or stay in contact by calling or sms. They won't try Telegram as long as you're still available on whatsapp.

That being said, most people don't really care about Whatsapp security leaks and other privacy issues, or the fact that they have to use multiple apps for instant messaging. Most of them still use Facebook too anyway, so removing whatsapp won't help anything. Just let them do what they want, as long as they still have telegram to message you, it doesn't really matter.
