Student, Community Groups In Philadelphia Call On President-elect Biden To Cancel All Federal Student Loan Debt

I have a bachelor's and 40k in student loan debt (I had a scholarship for most of tuition, financial aid for the rest, but they always push loans first, and it was a top tier school). I now pay about as much in taxes per year as my federal student loans and I don't directly benefit from any federal spending at this point. I suspect many others are in a similar situation. I'm totally down for helping others via social programs (which are only a moderate fraction of federal spending anyway), but if basically none of that money ever benefits me, why am I paying taxes? I grew up poor in sw philly, got fucked by this system the whole way up... this sort of bs makes a lifelong dem wanna vote republican.
