How is concert etiquette so bad?

This just comes across so rude and entitled. No wonder why this world comes across as snobby, elite, and inaccessible.

Expecting utter silence and perfection from your fellow audience members is an antiquated and ridiculous ideal at this point.

People cough, my dude. And people accidentally forget to set their phones to silent. And snoring? Maybe it's from being exhausted from trying to follow all these archaic rules!!!

Classical music is art. Art evokes emotion. If that shit is poppin you should be able to cry or pump your arms or chat about it quietly at least. You're alive. I've seen performances so good I wanted to stand up and scream and freak out! We do at other types of concerts and events, so why not here? Because you're here? Because you paid money for a ticket just like everyone else? Because you?

Fuck that. Live and let live.

And before you clap back calling me uncivilized or problematic or unaware of "the rules," check yourself. I grew up in this world. I have played with professional symphonies in majestic concert halls and I love classical music. I want to see everyone get excited about it fucking enjoy themselves, and if bottles drop or, god fucking forbid, someone COUGHS, then oh well let's all move on.

Get over yourself.
