How is this the correct solution? I thought you had to pair up colors. Every single puzzle before and after this one pairs up the orange Tetris shapes.

People here are kindly trying to convince you you need to rethink the rules without spoiling anything, but since you’re so completely convinced you’re right and are determined to have a shitty attitude about it, I can show you exactly how you’re wrong and not even paying attention to the puzzle that comes literally three panels after this one.

[Here is the spoiled explanation.](/First of all, the swamp establishes that polyominos have to be traced on the puzzle grid according to shape and orientation, unless they are tilted, in which case you can rotate them, and that the shape you trace has to contain the relevant polyominos. It establishes hollow polyominos are “negative” polyominos that can cancel polyomino squares. The majority of the swamp polyominos are yellow, but the color has nothing to do with the rules. Absolutely no restrictive rules about polyomino colors are established in the swamp; in fact, in learning to operate the rotating swamp platform, you are ostensively shown that polyominos of different colors are free to be combined as long as they follow the shape-making rule.

The puzzle you are griping about shows 1. Two suns of the same color paired, according to the rules first established in the treehouses. 2. All available polyominos traced and oriented correctly, according to rules first established in the swamp.

Just because in the treehouse the polyomino puzzles up to this point have paired the shapes, it is not established that this is necessary. They just happen to have been like this. You have made an assumption. All rules on the island are followed at all times, consistently.

Now, three panels down from your puzzle, on the same bridge, is this bad boy:

Where polyominos of two colors are paired for a perfectly valid solution. So you’re not even right that every puzzle “before and after” follows the rules. You’re just wrong. You are not paying attention. Thousands of players have solved this puzzle because they paid attention. Not every puzzle you can’t solve is bad game design.)
