We all went out for a bar crawl downtown. One of my friends gets blacked out drunk and gets lost. A couple of people try to find him while three of us are still at the bar. One of my friends(let's call him J) tried to hit on a girl, disrespects her boyfriend(?) and gets socked in face. Guy just up and walks away from the bar and J just sits there bleeding from his face. I was in shock the whole time. We eventually find my drunk friend and go home while J is raging the whole time (he's always had anger issues). Fast forward a couple days later I had heard my other friend who was at the bar lied saying him and my blacked out friend went looking for the guy who had assaulted J. J starts echoing this story to everyone he knows and tries to put all of the attention on me essentially using me as a scapegoat. I didn't talk to him for about a year because of this but we reconciled.
Fast forward a couple of years later to another friend's birthday at a nightclub. It was obvious from the get go J didn't want me to come (wasn't answering my calls or texts). Later in the night I start dancing with this girl who I had a crush on. And yeah you guessed it, J(who at the time has a girlfriend) tries his absolute hardest to cockblock me and eventually succeeds. When we see each other again he acts like nothing happened and when I call him out on it he gets angry at me wtf? Even after this shit I think MAYBE we could still be friends but nope.
6 months later we're all hanging out with some mutual friends and I couldn't get home because it was too late to take public transportation (my car was also about to get fined). So I reluctantly ask J for a ride home but he tells me no while raging at me. That was the moment I realized this person was going to screw me over every chance he got.
Another thing is that he is one of those "life of the party" type of people and I'm the shy quiet type. So no one gives a fuck what happens to me and everyone will keep riding his dick no matter how shitty of a person he is. So yeah I don't really spend time with that group of friends anymore.
