How far is a 22lr really accurate and usable and I don't mean out of most expensive custom rifles but a stock, middle of the road gun.

This is one of those whats doable with 22lr but not practical or repeatable in real life scenarios.

22lr is only good for small game and none of them have that big of a kill zone on their body and no one would ever try a kill shot at 600 or even 400 yards. SO that's useless.

Even the video where guys prove you can hit and possible kill someone for up to 400 yards away is not prove of accuracy, because you can't hit them reliably on the first shot, since no criminal or attacker will stand there till you dial in the right wind and elevation for the environment you are in by few sight in shots. SO once again everything to do with luck and nothing to do with practical accuracy.

Its more of a fun exercise of what is possible in a competition or some kind of a shooting game where you have time, lots of bullets and few guys with nothing to do.
