How far away are we from 2d image to 3d CAD using AI?

This.

There's a world of difference between taking a bunch of pictures of an object and using the tech out there to translate it to a workable video game/video FX model that doesn't have to worry about ever being made in reality and taking that same photo and translating it into something producible. What's more likely is AI driven prompts that automate tasks in CAD, that you come in and clean up later. We're already sorta there with people who are heavily into customized macros and such, but there will be a day where there won't be much of a point of doing macros when the AI can interpret your commands into a workable function (or at least something approaching it that you clean up and use) so much faster than you can sitting there tweaking a script.
