Think about frequent collaborators like Carti and Pi'erre, or Rico and Kenny. Think about collectives like Odd Future, Soulection, or Zero Fatigue. Each person is uniquely themselves, with their own sound that fits into the aesthetic of the whole group in its entirety, and in their beginnings they collaborated almost exclusively in-house with one another, and went on to grow their respective fanbases, creating movements which in turn created their own culture.

I'm not saying this is some guaranteed surefire way to success, but I do believe you'll be better off crafting a sound with a team of people than you would just selling beats to randos on the internet, especially if what you make is more off the beaten path. no pun..
