Know a guy who isn't getting married because his g/f has a kid and the state pays for day care and insurance. Basically they would be getting a paycut if they wed. She probably gets a higher compensation than my wife by the time her benis are factored in by making bad life choices. Same thing with someone I know on disablitly. He has to watch his income level so he doesn't lose it. It was a while ago but back when I was in school some high earner had his kid on housing assistance while in college. Totally gaming the system but it isn't that guys fault it is the way it is. Free money is free money.
I'm having marital problems so I was thinking about divorcing the wife and turning all assets over to her name leaving me with literally nothing. I'm a horrible person and I hate myself. I'll put the rental in to the corporation with her as the sole owner for tax purposes. The LLC could contact the housing authority and sign up for section 8 vouchers. Maybe I could rent it? Would that be illegal or just "unethical"?
If Obama is going to make so working doesn't pay I might as well join the rest of the crew. If I ever lose my job I think I'm going to be done with the corporate world and give being a leech a try. I already spend less than the poverty level. If I can get free money and food I could easily stop working now.
I don't know. I won't do anything illegal but if I can join the millions on welfare I think there might be a time I do it and it might rapidly be approaching.
I'm scared they are going to go after 401k's or reduce SS benefits because of my 401k size. Why risk it you know? Why try and save and plan if the government is going to steal it from me? Why should I go to work everyday if I can get all I need in freebies? Why should I bust my ass and save only to have it stolen or have someone say "well they have enough" so they don't get x. Do you know how cool it would be to go into work and not have stress.
I've grown so discussed with people lately. If I can get to where I am financially so can they. If they chose to get the latest iphone and new cars so be it. However, for me to live the way I do I'm only doing it so I will be secure and live better than them in retirement. However, with what I'm seeing and how little people are saving I think I'm going to get fucked. With trillions in 401ks it would be the perfect thing to rob to pay for the leeches. It really wouldn't hurt the 1% and everyone likes a little class warefare. People get so mad when you make about the same and yet you have more money.
Sorry for the rant. Just been thinking a lot about this lately. If I lose my job I'm going to enjoy a 6-12 month vacation (I'll be able and ready to work and I'll apply for my required jobs).
I swear it is getting to the point working doesn't pay anymore.
