I think I broke something in the lab and it's giving me major anxiety... What do I do?

Holy shit your lab does a lot similar stuff with mine.

But yeah, I've been in your shoes(not exact situation), and best way forward is to doing everything you can to make sure same mistakes do not happen, for anyone. At least that way your PI can feel that this problem will not happen again on your watch; which is better than not reporting any issues.

Which... accidents happen and there's so much we can do about it other than good prevention. So I recommend you to make sure your PI knows that you will not let this happen again instead of feeling sorry; in times like these PIs have to evaluate your utility versus value of the equipment, and I think it's for the best if you channel your anxiety into vigilance.

Hope it helps!
