Is it possible to do a PhD in 2 years

The only way you will do a legitimate PhD in 2 years is if all of the following are true:

  1. The university doesn't have any hard requirements that you must complete at least >2 years of work.

  2. You work extremely hard for very long hours every day for years and somehow don't burn out.

  3. Every part of the PhD process is extremely streamlined and efficient without any delays.

  4. You get lucky and get the results you want very quickly, instead of having to re-do loads and loads of experiments.

Any one of those happening is unlikely. All of them happening is virtually impossible.

So in short: no, it's not (realistically) possible to do a PhD in 2 years.
