I bow out of E3 press conferences. This will be the 3rd year I'm out, I look forward to the reveals but I don't watch the show live anymore. I'll tune in for Bethesda but I can't think of anyone else I really wanna watch. Nintendo isn't at E3 but they'll have a stream service -- sadly they put out an announcement that Zelda Wii U will be absent altogether from the show.
I don't think we'll be getting much out of Persona 5 at E3 and I'm gonna go on a media blackout soon enough for it anyway. Sony's E3 have been weak, the last major bang for a game reveal was the Last of Us and even that wasn't at E3, it was at Spike's VGAs. Bloodborne just came out and Dark Souls 2 isn't too old, so can't think of anything else that will warrant a live stream for me this year out of Sony or Microsoft.
3rd parties like SEGA and Konami aren't a big presence anymore and the show feels empty now. The lack of excitement is probably because of how stagnant the industry is with new game reveals and bait&switch. I'm really burned on Watch_Dogs, even if I didn't buy it in the end that was quite a slap in the face after they clearly made a fool out of us with the pre-staged demo. Alien Isolation or Duke Nukem Forever lead the pack of so called 'E3 demos', the list goes on with infamous misleading E3 showings. Capcom is another dirty little stinker with last gen shenanigans, I have zero hype for Street Fighter 5 despite playing 2, 3 and 4. It's because the well has been poisoned with DLC and they'll make more versions of the same game over and over.
I've already seen some E3 leaks and it's as expected, 360 and PS3 ports appearing as if they were truly breaking new ground on PS4 and Xbox One. Yawn, I'll just buy these Remaster Hype Mega Edition Ultra Deluxe Steam ports 2 years from now for 5 bucks a year or two from now. All this and I haven't even begun to talk about the Vita, well, you know Sony how feels about the PS3's little brother by now.
tldr; I'm just tired of the deceit and regurgitation. I don't have it in me to be hyped anymore, I just bet on lesser known Japanese devs to save this stagnating industry. The PS3 titles I'm excited about won't be at the highlight of the show so I'm passing on Sony's show again.
