Why I'm struggling with the idea of voting Democrat...

I'm glad you're open about these topics, this makes for a fun political conversation.

1). I think "racial wokeism" is a tad exaggerated, especially among right-wing commentators online. I have no problem with people promoting things like racial equality, and even "wokeism" in most cases because I don't think it physically harms anyone.

But I do agree that some left-wing commentators and politicians word things pretty badly, and make it sound like "whites vs blacks" rhetoric when it should be "whites and blacks work together" for example. I don't think the social media rhetoric should impact your view of individual candidates though.

2). I think liberals talk plenty about working-class concerns like wages and job opportunities, but fail to ease the concerns of right-wing individuals when it comes to higher taxation. This is exactly why a lot of working-class individuals are shifting to the right-wing, and I totally get it. When it comes to social issues, I don't think their social views really impact workers. Could you please explain what you're referring to?

3). I partly agree, social media activists come across as annoying and disrespectful. They ignore the concept of respecting differing views, and do act overly righteous. When it comes to the party platform, I really don't know how much the activists affect it. If you're referring to something like defunding the police, I totally agree that thats idiotic and reckless. If you're referring to late term abortion, I totally agree. I am pro-choice but staunchly anti any abortion happening after 12 weeks (with some exceptions).

4). I party agree, a lot of younger democrats are exceedingly angry and riled up over the existence of conservatism in America. The truth is that religious conservatism and economic conservatism (just individualism, tbh) is likely here to stay for a long time. But again, I don't think the activist types / commentators really "control" the democrats, but rather influence them and distort whats thought to be popular sometimes. Like for example, late term abortion isn't really that popular nationwide, even if there is probably 30-35% of democrats who kindof support it.

In conclusion, I totally understand what you're saying, a lot of online liberal rhetoric is toxic and bizarre. (Though, that's kindof just politics in general, right?) In every election, I just vote for the candidate I think represents my policy stances the best, and stands to just be a simple working politician.
