I'd probably just cook a big pot of pasta (100-140g of pasta per person depending on the crowd) and a nice sauce. For example Ammatriciana usually is very popular.
All you need is a bunch of diced bacon, some onions, optionally a few cloves of slice garlic, passata / canned tomatoes and salt, pepper and a bit of dried oregano.
You can replicate the method with all kinds of pasta sauces (Carbonara, Arrabiatta, etc.).
