Inflation is skyrocketing. Wanna control prices? Its time for the USA to implement universal healthcare, tuition-free colleges and trade schools, and national rent control.

There's no reason why, in one of the least population-dense-to-habitable-area countries on Earth, we should have such high costs of quality housing. I totally understand urban housing being priced how it is, it's high demand property. The question is how do we expand the suburban areas of our cities and ensure affordable suburban housing? Public transit investments would help expand cities' spheres of influence, along with allowing for mixed suburbs (business and residential zoning). That would increase demand for housing on the exurbs. Rural housing is too vastly unequal in quality, with very low quality housing or off the charts expensive housing, and there are few sources of income in rural America.
