"Insider's" Opinion on 2015 Games

They should have given them normal, breathable small sized weight vests like they would probably already trained with for murph instead of springing those plate carriers on them the day before.

And if they were hellbent on them wearing the plate carriers, they should have given them to them as soon as they qualified for the games, like with that stupid assault bike they wouldn't shut up about. I'm sure they knew before regionals that they were doing murph anyways, since 5.11 sponsored the games and had a tent there.

The plate carriers they were wearing hold in ridiculous amounts of heat, didn't look like they were sized right, and for a lot of athletes looked like they were not being worn correctly. I know they said they were fitted for them, but it looked more like all the men got a large, and the women maybe got a medium. They looked ridiculously large on most of the women and a even few of the smaller men.

I guarantee it was the main cause of the overheating issues with Murph. (second being the weather itself and third being lack of enough water stations) You cant just throw someone into body armor in the summer and expect them to do an all out unpartitioned murph in competition. It's literally asking for heat injuries. Even in the actual infantry, where we wore that shit all the time with side plates and other bullshit, you had to be careful about PTing in the summer. Even after years of conditioning I have witnessed about a dozen extremely fit Marines get heat exhaustion and 3 get heat stroke, and thats not even on our deployments.

It seems like Castro can't get the fact that while murph is a great workout, not everyone is a fucking Navy SEAL. Even the elites that were at the games needed notice and time to prepare, and not doing so for them was asking for injuries.
