You say one good game doesn't mean much compared to a mediocre season but I'd say it does, it was a clutch performance in the last competition we are in. Some people get reputations as big game players for this reason and De Gea but in a big game performance when it mattered and he still conceded 2 lol.

The thing that makes me think you're right about him leaving is his wages, he's already the highest earners at the club and in the league so I'm not sure how a contract negotiation would go when players usually want more money than their last contract, it's mad as fuck but from my perspective he should take a pay cut or non increase and break records here but he's smart and will probably go back to Spain. A lot has been said about his family living in Slain being an issue but after this long I don't think it is, footballers spend such little downtime during seasons that it might not make much of a difference. Rant over but I hope De Gea stays even for a year and losing out on gees later but having him in the team a year longer so Deano can develop outside the spotlight, he's still young for a keeper.
