Why isn't vegetarianism an acceptable middle ground for environmental purposes?

This is a good question. But I don’t think it’s a “waste” focus. Vegans don’t generally get along with vegetarians. Vegans are under the full understanding that consuming dairy is still animal cruelty because it contributes to rape, babies dying, and babies being taken away from their mothers. Vegetarians tend to say that they do it for the animals yet they are being hypocritical because they still contribute to animal cruelty by eating dairy and eggs. So it annoys most vegans more than anything when vegetarians try to justify themselves. (I personally will be nice to people, as I have friends who are vegan now that started off as vegetarians. So I try not to be rude. Rather just educate people) however I get it. I understand why people do get upset about it. Trust me vegans and vegetarians very rarely argue about their waste differences lmao.
