Think I've been going about entry level SF roles the wrong way

Hi gatorblu, I’m an aspiring salesforce admin and just looking to map out my plan of attack here. I had already begun my A+ cert when stumbling upon Salesforce, so I’m finishing that within the next week. I will also have my bachelor’s in May; however, it will be general studies with a concentration in both tech and english. It has been a learning process to get on my feet and find a direction as an adult, but I’m here. I’m so far thinking my best bet is to do volunteer SF work, and I’ve saved a few links for those opportunities; I’ve also signed up for Mike Wheeler’s course, and I’ll be doing my Admin Cert just to establish my basic credentials. Lastly I’m doing my best to network here, on LinkedIn, and in real life; my roommate is a current Jr. Salesforce Dev, and about to take over lead of a small team.

I don’t feel comfortable enough with coding to jump into a dev role, so I’m looking at Admin, although that is obviously difficult to enter into. Any advice on opportunities you think might be the best use of my time these next few months?
