Jags' funeral and mourning has more airtime than Kush's death and "funeral" combined.

I don't mind that theyre giving the aftermath of jags' death some airtime, i think it's a very good thing that they're showing the impacts on the panesar family and sikh grieving traditions. But acting like kush's death has been handled well, please.

The mourning for Kush has still been painfully lacklustre- or, more pointedly, shit. Just because his mates were shown to be sad a few times in the direct aftermath (and the idiotic hit and run plot that's also been very quickly glossed over) doesn't make it an adequate portrayal of grief. Looking at Martin now you'd think nothing even happened. And please spare me the 'the full extent of his grief couldve happened offscreen' argument, it's weak as hell for a show that has previously portrayed the effects of grief well onscreen, for multiple other character deaths. It wasnt difficult for them to have small, continual references to it, not just isolated to the first couple of weeks after his death. Because that's how grieving works, it's not a one and done thing.

Kush couldve also easily had a proper memorial service in the square aside from the offscreen funeral, because there were a lot of people who knew him and liked him. But nah. Jesus, martin came back from the funeral and i specifically remember ruby not even asking him how it was. Straight away the focus was on martin getting jealous of zack, because of course that takes priority over his best friend of many years who got hit by a fucking train.

With other character deaths in the past, the effects have been far, far more impactful. I've said it before but compare danielle (1 year character) and kush (7 fucking years) and tell me the aftermaths of their deaths were equally well done. Or look at shirley after heather's death.
