My parents voted for Trump. I made the decision to not talk to them about it now that the election is over, but they've been bringing it up. My dad has like $8000 invested with some firm that has never made him much money, and now he likes to talk about how the stock market is doing great. He also started up about pharmaceutical companies and how abusive they are to the consumer, and how they need to be stopped, at which point I couldn't help but point out how five minutes before he was talking about how all the government regulations going away is so great for the stock market. I think my mom understands how embarrassing his behavior is but insists to herself that he's better than Hillary. My dad is just screwy and doesn't notice when his views totally contradict themselves. I'm not sure he actually has much of a grip on anything Trump is doing or wants to do.

He did tell me that if they impeach Trump, there will be riots. I can just see him and his gray-haired megachurch buddies with their Eddie Bauer sweaters hurling middle-shelf Molotov cocktails at the police.
