The jump from season 8 to season 9 is super jarring

I never realized that.

It makes me both gain and lose respect for the team, honestly.

On the one hand, it sounds like they acknowledged Amanda was a critical person to the show, and so they kept a role for her even though it was not simple to justify her sudden absence.

On the other, it makes the whole Tamara thing on SGU less excusable. They literally JUST went through that, and they didn't put a 'no pregnancies' clause into the female contracts past that point? Don't jump down my throat for the suggestion: if you want to say 'I'm willing and able to do everything equal to males' then 'not getting pregnant' is one of those things, and that's a valid request, and should be in the contract.

In any case, good on them for going out of their way to keep Amanda, in that case it didn't seem to totally mess with the original scripts. In SGU, well, totally different story. I mean... that feeling when you realize the whole baby storyline, including everything about her going back to Eden, was tossed into a finished script last minute. I mean... that was one of my favorite parts of the entire season! And it existed only to keep the pregnant actress involved with the show... again. Sigh.

Good on them for Tapping.

Sort of ridiculous for Huffman.
