I'm playing the long game this year. Already have Gretzky and sitting on 180k coins and 140 gold players. Getting platinum Rivals and Elite 3 rewards this week and just going to keep collecting gold cards and the untradeable rewards every week until I can build Mario.

From there I'll just be saving coins and building icon cards until I can replace all my untradeable players from packs with icons. I'll be improving my team 1 player at a time instead of building it evenly as I find lower OVR teams get the short end of the DDA stick less often.

I would go with Gretzky if you really want him first, but you can't go wrong with either of them and should get both eventually.
